When a Blockage Alarm Occurs During Injection
If normal injection is not progressing due to unstable cartridge or needle connection or hardening at the injection site during insulin injection, the "Injection Blockage" screen appears, displaying the amount of insulin injected up to the point of blockage.
If an injection blockage situation occurs, “injection blockage” on the screen will occur after up to 10U has been injected. (The amount of insulin left un-injected due to infusion blockage may vary depending on the condition of the insulin cartridge in use or the user's physical condition.) If infusion blockage occurs, the device stops infusion and displays the standby screen. When the waiting time is complete, the “Injection blocked” screen is displayed with an alarm.
When the injection blockage alarm screen appears, detach the inserted needle from your body.
Verify whether the device is in a state suitable for injection by checking for needle blockage and other issues during the air removal process. If insulin is still not being dispensed during air removal, replace the needle and perform air removal again.
Once the device is in a state where insulin injection is possible through air removal, attempt the injection by changing the injection site. In this case, the device prioritizes injecting the previously undelivered amount due to the previous blockage occurrence.
Refer to section 4.2 for instructions on injecting the undelivered amount.
WARNING
If the needle is not removed from the body after an injection blockage occurs, or if an injection is attempted without priming, unintentional insulin injection up to 10U may occur.
In case of alarm occurrence of insulin shortage
This alarm occurs when injecting with a setting amount higher than the remaining amount of the cartridge being used. The alarm screen displays the amount of injected insulin that could not be injected due to the remaining cartridge being insufficient.
When the insulin shortage alarm occurs, separate the inserted needle from the body.
Remove the needle and cartridge according to the procedure and replace it with a new cartridge according to the cartridge replacement procedure. Replacing the cartridge also includes priming.
When the replacement of the cartridge is completed, operate the insulin injection through the function of “Injection of the un-injected amount”.
Please refer to 3.2 for how to replace the cartridge.
The remaining insulin of the cartridge is what the device recognizes and there may be some difference with the actual remaining cartridge.
When Low Battery Alert occurs
If the internal battery of the P8 is at 9% or lower, the injection-related functions will be restricted. You can temporarily silence the alarm by pressing the ACT or M button, and the alarm will be deactivated once the battery level reaches 10% or higher. It is recommended to charge the P8 regularly to maintain the battery level above 50% during use.
- If the battery level is below 10%, the DIA:CONN P8 will restrict the use of injection functions for user safety. However, other setting-related functions will remain accessible.
When the low battery alert occurs, press the ACT or M button to silence the alarm, and please charge the device. The alarm will be fully deactivated once the battery level reaches 10% or higher.
It is advisable for users to prepare a backup battery or charger before going out in case of emergency situations.
